I am very disappointed in this clothes line. Have had the same model for many years and only had to replace it because the plastic line covering on my old one was splitting and threatening to break. The new one looks identical but the clothes line is so stretchy it makes it almost impossible to hang things out. Even with a clothes prop the swing in the wind makes the clothes drag on the floor and you have to keep hitching the line up to stop it. Not an easy thing to do when the line is full. My old one worked perfectly and I just wonder why it had to be changed. If it ain't broke don't mend it!

I have used this product for years, sadly the original Cordomatic does not seem to be made, however this betterware version is no where near as good. The cord has a nylon centre which makes it very stretchy, which makes hanging heavy items very difficult, even with a prop (I believe other people have made the same comments).
The product comes with a metal hook that can be drilled into a wall etc, this is probably the only decent part of this product (it was one of two parts I kept when it broke!). The cord is threaded through the end-ring (could not think of a better name for it) and then tied. I would suggest if you do buy this that you tie a couple of extra knots as the cord pulls through the end-ring very quickly otherwise (much to the announce of my washing falling on the ground!).
My line only lasted 2 days before the piece of plastic you use to secure the line broke. I will not be buying this product again as it was cheaper to buy a steel-core cable from the local DIY shop, along with a cleat-hook and a hook.
Using the end-ring I threaded the new cable through and secured it. I used one of the existing holes for the line to attach a second hook, then below it I placed the cleat-hook. You can then pull the line taught yourself and use the cleat-hook to secure it. Granted it does not automatically retract but I would rather know the line is not going to snap!
